MAKÜ YAŞAM'S SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION POLICY*
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Center for Aging Studies Application and Research Center (MAKÜ YAŞAM) social contribution policy encompasses activities conducted in full compliance with local and international ethical standards, aiming to prevent discrimination, neglect, and abuse, provide lifelong learning opportunities, encourage social participation, and support active aging in line with fundamental principles such as the rights of elderly individuals, equality, and justice. In this context, our social contribution policies:
P1. The production of new knowledge for problems affecting society in the field of elderly welfare and solutions to these problems,
P2. In line with the Development of Holistic Solution Mechanisms Based on the Life Course Approach; planning to implement solution mechanisms for human, health, social, economic, and ecological problems of individuals in every age group, and developing the potential for active and healthy aging for individuals' elderly period,
P3. Ensuring cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations for the use of knowledge produced through national and international projects at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Center for Aging Studies Application and Research Center (MAKÜ YAŞAM) for the benefit of society in the field,
P4. Adopting a rights-based approach in social, cultural, economic, and health areas to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of the elderly and ensure that elderly individuals live in equality and dignity,
P5. Making health, care, education, counseling, and social services accessible and inclusive for elderly individuals and ensuring accessibility especially for the elderly in rural areas,
P6. By changing the perception of aging in society, organizing awareness campaigns and training to transform societal perceptions about aging, and considering aging not just as a problem but as experience and knowledge accumulation,
P7. Developing projects that support the social integration of the elderly to combat issues such as loneliness, isolation, and exclusion,
P8. Ensuring the active participation of elderly individuals in societal decision-making processes,
P10. Creating educational opportunities such as lifelong learning programs and digital skills for elderly individuals to sustain their personal development,
P11. Encouraging solidarity projects and volunteer programs for the elderly in society; ensuring that the elderly become part of social life,
P12. Encouraging scientific research and innovative solutions related to aging; ensuring the integration of scientific studies and technological developments to improve the quality of life of the elderly,
P13. Considering that demographic transformation in Turkey will continue with an increasing elderly population, contributing to the creation and implementation of social policies to meet the economic, social, cultural, and psychological needs of the elderly in the near future,
P14. Conducting research/education and application-oriented projects in the field of elderly welfare at macro and micro levels and carrying out publications based on these to conduct social contribution practices,
P15. Conducting research/education and application-oriented projects in the field of active and healthy aging according to the life course approach,
P16. Developing intergenerational solidarity projects to encourage interaction and cooperation between the elderly and the young, and offering opportunities to strengthen social bonds by sharing the knowledge, experience, and skills of each age group through these projects,
P17. Conducting research/education and application-oriented projects in the field of elderly rights, preventing poverty among the elderly for elderly welfare, and carrying out publications based on these to conduct social contribution practices,
P18. Conducting research/education and application-oriented projects in the field of technologies for the elderly and elderly care models,
P19. Conducting retirement adaptation studies, providing consultancy services, and conducting social contribution practices,
P20. Conducting research/education and application-oriented projects in the field of the impact of global migration mobility on elderly individuals and carrying out publications based on these to conduct social contribution practices,

Organizing social events such as exhibitions, breakfasts, and graduation ceremonies by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Center for Aging Studies Application and Research Center (MAKÜ YAŞAM) to increase the participation of elderly individuals in social life, and through these events, allowing elderly individuals to socialize and strengthen their cultural and social ties.

* The Social Contribution Policy Text of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Center for Aging Studies Application and Research Center (MAKÜ YAŞAM); social contribution activities planned by determining local needs and international agenda in the field of elderly welfare are implemented with the decisions of our Center's Management Board. The opinions of stakeholders in the Advisory Board are taken for necessary improvement and development studies.
These policies are designed to contribute to the elderly gaining a more active and valuable place in society and encompass many different areas aimed at improving the quality of life.
